Group leader Jiao Yang was born in Siping City, Jilin Province, in 1991. In 2009, he was recommended for direct admission to the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University, where he completed his undergraduate studies in 2013. In the same year, he entered the Department of Chemistry at Tsinghua University to pursue a doctoral degree under the guidance of Academician Zhang Xi. During his doctoral studies, he conducted a series of research on the regulation and functions of supramolecular radicals, receiving honors such as the Tsinghua University Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award and Outstanding Graduate Student Award. After completing his Ph.D. in 2018, he went to Northwestern University in the United States to work as a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Professor J. Fraser Stoddart, focusing on the catalysis of self-assembly processes and the construction of functional molecular machines. On March 1, 2023, he joined the Institute of Organic Chemistry at the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering at Peking University, where he established a research group on organic supramolecular chemistry, planning to explore and conduct research at the forefront of organic, supramolecular, and polymer chemistry.
We advocate a research philosophy that prioritizes interest, encourages active thinking, and balances work and leisure, with the goal of building an ideal research group: a community gathered by science, a team that works efficiently, a collective that supports and cares for each other, and a warm family.
Through trials and tribulations, we welcome and look forward to the participation of like-minded individuals!
