Fan, Yi-Chen and Han-Yuan’s work on CoSalen catalyzed electrocatalytic hydrofunctionalization of alkenes has been published on ACS Catalysis. In this work we have developed a general method for various kinds of oxidative functionalization of alkenes via CoII/III/IV cycle. Mechanistic studies provided strong support for an ECEC mechanism involving key intermediate CoIV, which will broadly expand the reactivity space of VB12-type Cobalt complexes.
