Cheng's Bio: 

Shengfeng Cheng is an associate professor in the Department of Physics at Virginia Tech and the director of its Center for Soft Matter and Biological Physics. He is a recipient of the CAREER award from the USA. National Science Foundation. He obtained B.S. from Nanjing University in China and Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University. He was a postdoctoral researcher at Sandia National Laboratories before joining Virginia Tech. His research interests center on theory and molecular modeling of soft condensed matter systems including polymers, colloids,and nanocomposites.
